Wow, unfortunately I need to relay some bad news for those of you that may have gotten (or received) gifts through Digital Doorstep. They are a company that many daily deal sites worked with over the past several months to do daily deals for Fandango Movie tickets, Target gift cards and more.
As of Thursday morning, Digital Doorstep filed for bankruptcy. All of the daily deal codes they had provided (including ALL of the Fandango Movie ticket codes that were already redeemed…:() have been canceled.
If you had a deal that you purchased through a daily deal step that went through Digital Doorstep, you will need to contact the daily deal site to get a refund.
Unfortunately this also means that a couple of the recent giveaways that I did for Fandango movie tickets are no longer valid 🙁 The codes were ALL canceled. I will be contacting the deal sites that I had gotten these through — but if you received one and haven’t already used it, please email me and we will figure something out (wheelndealmama at aol dot com).
For those of you that may have purchased the Plum District deal for a Target gift card and Fandango movie tickets, here is the statement released by Plum District’s CEO:
For any customers who haven’t received Target cards or been able to redeem Starbucks/Fandango promotion codes, we are issuing a full refund. Despite our efforts to resolve the issues, we’ve lost all confidence that you might receive your cards, and earlier this week we filed a lawsuit with Digital Doorstep for breach of contract. Additionally, Digital Doorstep filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy today, so to ensure we always put our customers first, we are refunding all of these unfulfilled purchases. Furthermore, we will not work again with any merchant that doesn’t meet our high standards. We truly appreciate your patience, support and business throughout what we know was an even more frustrating period for you than it was for us. We look forward to “Making Mom’s Day” — your day — each day in the future. I’m so glad that you posted this. I was a little upset when plum district cancelled my purchase and I haven’t received a refund from them yet. I was starting lose faith in them. Thanks for the info.
