WOW!! I have some MAJOR breaking news for you about Walmart and Black Friday!
My friend Paul over at I Heart the Mart just got an email back from Walmart Corporate about how Black Friday is going to work this year and all I can say is WOW. See the Walmart Black Friday ad here.
First – you can put any item that you want on Black Friday on layaway NOW. Then on Black Friday you can go in at ANY TIME during the day and pay it off at the Black Friday price. I don’t know about you but I am seriously excited about that fact alone!!!
Go into Walmart tomorrow and lock in everything that you are planning on getting on layaway!! Yes, this means TVs, yes this means toys, anything and everything that you are planning on getting that qualifies for layaway!
Second – if you have an item that you want from another retailer on Black Friday, as long as Walmart carries the exact item, put that on layaway too!! They will price match ANY ad.
Woohoo!! Do you know how much easier this will make your day. Yes, there will still be lines. But one line vs. 10 different stores will be HUGE.

- For items already on layaway, will Walmart price match those items if they have now gone on sale for Black Friday?
Items that have been put on layaway then are paid off on Black Friday will be sold at Black Fridaypricing (i.e. If you place a LG Blu-ray player on layaway today and payoff the purchase on Black Friday, you will pay the $38 Black Friday price).
- Can you use coupons for layaway items?
Yes. Walmart is committed to providing our customers with the lowest prices. To back up our price leadership promise, we will match the price of any local competitor’s printed ad for an identical product right at the cash register even on layaway items.More information is available at walmartstores.com/download/4752.pdf.
- Are Black Friday deals online again?
Customers can also get a jump start on shopping from the comfort of their homes with a two day online-only event on Walmart.com starting early on Thanksgiving Day and extending through Black Friday. I know It says you can go in at ANY time Black friday – even if it’s after the Door busters time? Because I personally know I will be working the same time they have door busters going on! It’s very surprising that they are willing to put things on layaway – and allow you to get the BF price! Wayto go walmart!
I second this question – What about the Thursday night sales? can you go in on Friday and pay Thursday’s door buster prices?

Just called my Walmart and they said they will NOT price check on items on layway for black friday
I used to do something similar to this at toys r us when my girls were little. To make sure I got all those hot items that sell out, I bought the things I wanted ahead of time that were going to be on sale on black Friday, then took back my purchase to the customer service counter on black Friday, and they would credit me back the difference in price. I thought I was pretty clever doing that, lol.
Is there any way we can get that letter to print out or something because I went to put my items on layaway tonight and the guy told me there is no way they could do that.
My Walmart said no they are not doing that. She said that defeats the purpose of a black Friday sale.
man, if only they treated their employees this good, i might actually consider shopping there!
