Did you know that Peter Pan was released from the Vault last week?! Not only that, it has been remastered and put on BluRay!
This was always one of my favorite Disney movies, the first with Tinkerbell and overall such fun movie!
It is hard to believe that this movie was actually released originally in 1953! Disney really did an excellent job of cleaning it up and putting onto BluRay. There is no widescreen as that was not a technology that had been developed at that point. I believe the first of the widescreen movies were a few years later. So you do have to get used to seeing a movie with the black bars on the side again. To me that was no big deal though.
I was sent a copy of Peter Pan on BluRay to review a couple weeks ago and this was the first time my kids were able to see the movie. Both my son (4) and daughter (6) loved it. They were enthralled and sat through the entire thing — which is saying a lot, there are few movies that they will do that with unfortunately!
The best thing with Peter Pan is you have the best of both worlds. Tinkerbell, flying fairies, a little girl and Mermaids (!!!) for the Girls and Pirates, Peter and Alligators for the Boys!
Personally that is one of my favorite things about most Disney movies, they really cater to BOTH audiences a lot of the time.
