Kylie, my daughter, has always been a HUGE fan of Disney. Especially the fairies and princesses. She had a Tinkerbell bed set for quite a while but the rest of her room was kind of “blah”. So of course I was very excited to work with Glidden on this Disney Paint Project! Walmart, exclusively, carries this great line of Disney Paints by Glidden. They are more than I expected! Read more about the selection in my first post about the paint here.
We picked the Disney Princess theme for her room and got to work on the re-decoration! For right now we have done an accent wall in her room to liven it up, that said — now that I have done one wall and it was SO easy with the Disney paint, I am considering doing the whole room.
As I wanted to test out the specialty paints too, we took this fun little table that was in Kylie’s room, sanded it down to paint too. We picked the glitter top coat to add some flare to the gorgeous Enchanted Violet paint.
Once I got all the taping done (that is definitely my least favorite part about painting!), it was a very quick job to get the wall painted. The paint went on very smoothly, no need for a second coat.
I am loving the accent wall! Like I said, I actually think I will do all the walls in her room before our Disney Princess Party to launch her new room! 😉 Kylie was MORE than thrilled about this whole thing. She wouldn’t let me take a picture without her in it!
We were very excited to get the matching bedding for our theme too! Kylie had the Tinkerbell comforter previously and it appears that Disney has actually upgraded their bedding as this new Disney Princess comforter is SOFT and silky, very nice.
Color wise, Kylie has just enough pink and purple now. The table was a great added touch to her room. Like the walls, the paint went on extremely easily — oh and I almost forgot to mention, the smell is VERY minimal with this paint. I was very happy with that as this was an afternoon project and it dried quickly, no left over smell by bed time!
The Enchanted Violet definitely works better in her room than the green frog! Once I did the purple, and it dried (all of about 20 minutes!), I just added a quick coat of the glitter paint on top. How fun is this?!
Very impressed that the paint doesn’t feel extremely coarse either — you would think that could be the case with the glitter but it wasn’t at all.
Depending on the lighting, you seen more or less glitter, from afar you really wouldn’t hardly notice at all!
We are now in party planning mode to launch her new room to all her friends!
