Before I had my own kids, my niece introduced me to the fun of the Disney channel and Nick Jr. At the time, Dore the Explorer was all the rage. Now though, you ask my kids and it is all about Doc McStuffins and Princess Sofia.
I was lucky enough to get a copy of the new Doc McStuffins: Time for Your Checkup DVD for review. Needless to say, it has been a favorite since it arrived at our house. Even though “the Doc” is a girl, there are enough friendly characters throughout the show to keep both my son and daughter happy.
Some of the names that Doc McStuffins comes up with for these various ailments just crack me up.
This DVD is perfect though — with 2 full hours of episodes, you are sure to have a couple for every kid. The other thing that I really am impressed with Disney for is, although there are silly diseases, there is a lot of education built in too. Simple “take care of yourself” basics that the kids are learning through their favorite characters. Which, as we all know, are WAY cooler than Mom or Dad 😉
As with most Disney shows, the kids also get the importance of teamwork, working together and helping each other out. Which I think is very important at the pre-school ages and into Kindergarten.
With a full 120 minutes of Doc McStuffins fun, you can get the DVD on Amazon now! I definitely recommend this one for the little ones.
I was provided a copy of this DVD for review. As always the opinions are entirely my own!
