Have you seen Disney’s Oz the Great and the Powerful yet?! It is now available for purchase! I saw the movie back just before it came out and then didn’t have a chance to see it again until it came out on BluRay/DVD. The hubby hadn’t seen it at all so I was excited to see how he and the kids liked it.
We all know the classic tale of the Wizard of Oz, the man hidden from view has been a mystery. In this film you get to see the back story to that man.
James Franco play “Oz” he is a scam artist magician traveling with the Circus until he gets thrown into the world of Oz finding Theodora (Mila Kunis) waiting for him.
Theodora and Evanora (Rachel Weisz) have him convinced that Glinda (Michelle Williams) is a wicked witch and in order to get the riches of the castle he must kill her. He sets off on his task.
Of course we all know Glinda is NOT the wicked witch and luckily he does quickly find that out! You get to watch as Oz transforms and grows as a person through the escapades to save the Land of Oz.
The movie on BluRay was just as awesome as in the theater! Perfect quality. Everyone in my family loved it. Including the kids actually! I was surprised as I wasn’t sure if parts would be “too scary” or not. But both loved it.
Oh and I forgot to mention… my favorite character in this movie was the little China Girl (played by Joey King). See a short clip below.
