Just had to try this one! And it was super easy. Comfort food, and a wonderful Sunday dinner.
All you need is:
3 or 4 boneless and skinless chicken breast halves
2 tbls butter
1 large can of cream of chicken soup (2 small cans would work too)
1 onion, chopped small (optional)
1 12 oz pkg Texas style biscuits (refrigerated)
Put chicken breasts, soup, onion and butter in your crock pot. Add water to just cover. Cook for 6 hours on high.
About half an hour before dinner time, tear the biscuit dough into pieces.
Add the dough to the crock pot and cook for about 30 minutes or until it is not raw in the middle.
I served mine with cranberry sauce and a salad. Next time I think I will add some carrots and/or celery to the mix.
What I loved about this recipe was how easy it was. My chicken was not totally thawed, so you could probably even have frozen chicken and it would work. Also, the above amounts made a lot! Leftovers for lunch, or even another dinner for sure.

Make your own drop dumplings. 2 cups flour, 3/4tsp baking powder, 2 eggs, 1 tbsp salt 1/2 tbsp pepper(or just season to taste), and a splash of milk, and mix well. Now you have a big ball of dough. Start with a small spoon and start dropping small pieces of the dough into the (hot) broth in the crock pot. They will swell and float when done. Wayyy better than canned biscuits as dumplings. Js
