Baked Powdered Sugar Donuts
What you need (yields 12 donuts):
Donut batter:
2 cup Flour
3/4 cup Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Salt
3/4 cup Milk
1/4 tsp Lemon juice or White Vinegar
2 beaten Eggs
2 tbsp melted Butter
Topping:
3/4 cup Powdered Sugar
1/4 cup melted Butter
How to Make your Donuts:
Add lemon juice to milk (buttermilk substitute).
Preheat oven to 425
Spray Donut pan
Combine dry donut ingredients in large bowl.
Add milk, eggs and butter.
Stir just until well mixed.
Fill each ring about to top. Make sure it tops center hole.
Bake about 8 minutes, until tops rebound when pressed.
Leave donut in pan for about 5 minutes.
Remove from pan and set on cooling rack.
Dip top of donut in melted butter.
Hold above bowl allowing excess to drip off.
Dip in plate filled with powdered sugar or place on rack on use sifter to sprinkle powdered sugar.
Return to cooling rack.
Once cooled, enjoy!
