Ahhh fall, I love you for so many reasons- fuzzy sweaters, crisp air, football games, pumpkin, and of course apples and spice. I should probably be a little ashamed of taking something healthy like an apple and making it fattening by deep frying it and then tossing it in powdered sugar, and spices…but I’m not. These apple pie fries are too delicious to feel guilty about, the perfect fall treat when you want something rich and sweet. They are a perfect addition to football fare in front of the T.V,, an after school snack for the kids, or for finishing off a hearty fall meal. Serve with hot apple cider, coffee, or even milk for a delicious and sweet tooth satisfying treat.

How to make Apple Pie Fries:
Heat 2″-3″ oil in a small saucepan.
Peel apples, and slice into “fry” shapes.
Place cornstarch in a large bowl.
Toss apples in cornstarch to coat.
Combine powdered sugar, apple pie spice, and cinnamon in a separate bowl, set aside.
Drop apple slices into hot oil and fry until lightly golden brown.
Remove from oil with a slotted spoon, tap off excess oil.
Drop hot apple fries into powdered sugar mixture and toss to coat well.
Remove from powdered sugar and place on paper towel lined plate to cool.
Eat apple fries just as they are or serve them with a side of caramel for dipping. ENJOY!!
