Rumor has it that Target recently changed its cash registers and in turn has a new policy for accepting coupons in order to prevent coupon abuse and “extreme” couponing.
According to this MSN article, Target employees were previously able to override the system when a coupon was rejected. However, this is no longer allowed, which could lead to longer lines as customers ask for managers and angry shoppers when certain coupons are not allowed.
