During Spring Break, we took the kids up to Denver, we spent our Spring Break in the snow 😉  It was a blast though. One of our indoor trips was too the Denver history museum, they have a huge museum and the kids were kept busy (learning too!) for hours.
One of their favorite spots along the way? They had a fantastic Chocolate history display! Just about anything and everything that you ever wanted to learn about chocolate. Did you know that Cocoa beans used to be currency?! That’s right.
In the early stages of chocolate, only the rich could afford it. Crazy! It was also clear through the display that the spices that were mixed with the cocoa are what made it even tastier. Nutmeg, cayenne, other “loud” flavors to spice it up.
The history was quite fascinating! American Heritage is striving to bring back that original taste and it really did not disappoint at all.
Finding American Heritage Chocolate however hasn’t always been in the easiest, but it just got a whole lot easier as they are now available at Cracker Barrel’s 630 stores in 42 states!
I was sent a little package to try out, and OH MY WORD, they are so good.  Just a small bite but the perfect mouthful of rich, slightly spicy chocolate. Thankfully, I have a Cracker Barrel right down the street 😉
All American Heritage Chocolate products are certified Kosher, made with all-natural ingredients and no preservatives. Their chocolate is fashioned from recipes from the 18th century and use a sprinkling of spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, orange, and red pepper. And WOW, you can taste it — it really gives it a punch and makes the chocolate taste even better.
Individually wrapped, American Heritage Chocolate Bites come in a keepsake muslin bag and are ideal for eating and sharing (although, you won’t want to haha).
