Hodgson Mill and Wild Harvest have both issued voluntarily recalls of their flour products due to E. coli contamination. Although the brands use separate processing facilities, both of them discovered traces of E. coli during routine testing.
These recalls affect the 5-pound bags of Hodgson Mill All-Purpose White Wheat Flour and 5-pound bags of Wild Harvest Organic All-Purpose Flour (unbleached). The recalled flour was shipped to stores across the country. No other products from either company were affected.
The recalled Hodgson Mill flour will have the UPC code 0-71518-05009-2 with a “Best If Used By” date of October 1, 2020 or October 2, 2020. Contaminated lot codes include 001042 and 005517.

The recalled Wild Harvest flour has the UPC code 711535509158 with a “Best If Used By” date of January 8, 2020. There is no lot code for this product. So far, there have been no reports of illness, but the FDA is urging consumers to check their pantries for the recalled flour. If you do find any of the recalled flour in your home, you should either dispose of it or return it to the point of purchase for a refund.
