I will never forget the first time I had a CHOCO TACO. We had moved to Yuma, AZ in June. Yuma, AZ + June = INSANE temperatures. There were days where the “low” was in the 90s and the high over 120. My electric bill was out the roof with the thermostat set at 79! Needless to say, my concept of “hot weather” was never the same after the year I lived there! The only way I survived was with COLD treats!
Once every couple weeks we would head over to this little Taco Place where they had some unbelievably good tacos. Seriously, that is probably the ONLY thing I miss about Yuma AZ… Las Palapas Tacos. SO GOOD. Well one of the times we were there my in laws ordered CHOCO tacos and after that they became one of my favorite treats!
Here is a great recipe to make these yummy desserts at home!
Be sure to follow me on Pinterest and check out my other recipes too!
What you need:
4 Waffle Bowls
1 pint Fudge Ripple Ice Cream
1/4 cup chopped Peanuts
6 oz Chocolate Melting Candy
How to make Homemade CHOCO Tacos:
Take a waffle bowl and wrap in a dampened paper towel and heat for 18 seconds so that you can reshape the bowl into a taco shape.
Then let your waffle taco cool and harden.
Fill each of the tacos with ice cream and return to freezer for 15 minutes to harden.
Melt chocolate by heating in the microwave for 30 seconds, stirring and repeating until melted and smooth.
Carefully spoon chocolate over exposed ice cream and edges of taco cone and sprinkle with crushed peanuts.
Return to freezer to harden.
Enjoy!!
