How time flies! The kiddie-pool garden is now almost 2 months old, and it won’t be many more days before I will have that sun-heated tomato on my dinner plate. Or maybe, I will just slice it and eat it all by itself, sharing it with whoever wants a bite. Three out of the four plants are looking good. Fried green tomatoes, anyone? It is tempting, but I will be patient.
I have used fresh herbs and dried some for future use as well. The basil is literally growing a foot a week. The picture below is after a good pruning.
The green onions and garlic have not changed much in appearance, but I hope that is not the case underground. And, the zucchini is not thriving well. I hope it makes it because I really want to use it for the Parmesan Zucchini Treats I posted about previously.
Then we have the peppers.
All four plants are healthy and producing. The past two Sunday mornings we have had country style fried potatoes with those spicy little buggers. I added some green onions to mine as well, and served them with two over easy eggs on top. Two medium sized taters and four peppers works great for 2 or 3 peeps.
Really looking forward to many more peppers and ripe tomatoes. I am ready for some home-made salsa.
