Shaun the Sheep Movie premiered in theaters everywhere today!! Just in time to sneak in one last movie with the kiddos before school starts 🙂 If you haven’t already seen the trailers, check it out below! I am loving the clay animation.
These days you always see these movies with crazy HD and color, which is great but the clay animation kind of takes me back to the “good old days”. Very fun. Meet Shaun in this short clip!
The movie itself is only 84 minutes, so even the little ones with a shorter attention span should enjoy this one. Shaun the Sheep decides that he wants a break from the usual day to day grazing in the fields and ends up getting into all kinds of shenanigans. I watched several of the clips (that you can check out here) and I’m loving how Shaun seems to think he is trying so hard to appear like he is a human in the restaurant clip.
But of course, in the end he realizes the Big City is no where for a sheep! He has to figure out how to get himself and the entire flock back to the safety of their green grass. Lots of adventure, fun and music to keep the kiddos entertained!
Plus, the message of the movie is pretty great too. It is very clear that without the entire flock working together as a team, they will not get back to their home. They run into obstacles that Shaun, by himself, could not take on by himself.
The movie is geared towards kids 4-10 years old. I think I will be taking the kids early next week before school starts!

My kiddos all love Shaun the Sheep 3yo-9yo. They love his antics and his fooling the farmer. I like it because it’s not loud, annoying or technicolor which gets overwhelming after awhile.

My husbands name is Shaun. My 4 year old thinks it is too funny that there is a sheep named Shaun too. For her the fact that Shaun acts like a person and gets themselves into funny situations is hilarious!

My daughter loves shaun the sheep! My inlaws have sheep and she helped name them and of course one is Shaun! I like it because it is more like the shows I watched the good ones!!
