I have another fantabulous guest post today for Tasty Tuesday!! From my good friend JonnaBeth over at Centsless Deals:
I hesitate in sharing this with you. I mean, anyone I’ve ever cooked for knows this is what I make when I want to wow someone. So if I share it, who will need me for alfredo anymore? 😉
Because I love you all soo much, and because I’ve been told this recipe is too good to keep to myself, I’m sharing it finally. It’s super easy and I promise it will always be a hit!!!
You won’t even be able to believe something so good could be so easy to make. Plus, if you’re doing the low carb thing like I am, this sauce has virtually no carbs. Whoohooo!! (that’s Atkins pasta in the picture so no, I didn’t cheat)
Alright, here’s my recipe for Knock Your Socks Off Alfredo sauce
Ingredients:
- 6 oz cream cheese
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 quart of heavy whipping cream
- 8 oz grated parmesan cheese
- garlic powder (optional)
- Melt butter and cream cheese in a sauce pan over medium heat. The cream cheese might look a bit strange, just try and make it as smooth as possible because once you add the cream it will stay lumpy if you didn’t smooth it out.
- Add whipping cream and turn the heat to medium-high.
- Whisk together until butter and cream have combined and until the sauce bubbles slightly.
- Now here is the optional part. I use almost all of the parmesan cheese. You don’t have to use quite as much, so add it a little bit at a time until you get the desired taste. If you use less parmesan cheese you’ll need to add a little bit of garlic powder. I use a lot of parmesan and no garlic powder
- That’s IT! You’re all done and within minutes you’ve made an amazingly tasty sauce!! As you let it sit, it will thicken up.
