This makes such a great Sunday dinner, and the best part is you can start it first thing in the morning and have the preparation part over early. You may have a similar recipe for this very easy meal, but here is the one that was handed down in my family and is one of my all time favorites!
What you need:
2-3 lbs boneless chuck roast
1 pkg dry onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Worcestershire sauce
12-15 carrots
6-8 medium sized red potatoes
You want your beef to slow cook for 8 or 9 hours so it is really tender.
That means you prepare this meal before breakfast. Place the meat in the crock pot and add both soups. I splash 2 or 3 good splashes of Worcestershire sauce into the mix for extra flavor. Start the process on high and reduce to low if it starts doing more than just a simmer. About 4 hours in, cut your washed carrots and potatoes into halves or thirds according to your preference. Add them to the pot. It will be ready for dinner at just the right time.
Don’t hesitate to add onions or celery if you desire. And, if you need a bigger amount it is easy to adjust the ingredients. You can also do in the oven at 250 degrees all day in a large pan. Just make sure you do not cook too fast.
Serves up great with French bread.

The recipe says to add “both soups” – Does this mean you need to make the soup with the dry onion soup mix? Or do you put it in the Crock Pot dry?
Wheel n Deal Mama says
Use it dry!

Do you need to brown the roast beef before you put it in the croc pot?
Wheel n Deal Mama says
Nope!

Do you need to add water or any other liquid besides the one can of soup/Worcestershire/dry onion soup mixture?
