I actually used to live about 2 blocks away from the Dolby theatre, I was always too busy to even think about the premieres and glitz and glamour going on a few blocks away. So it was definitely a treat to experience it in full force with the Brave Premiere!
First off, the fact that it was held in the Dolby Theatre, where they host the Oscars (!!), made the whole experience even more exciting. All us bloggers were seated pretty much up front in the theatre too. Where all the “A-listers” sit during the Oscars…
Normally that is not where I would choose to sit for a 3D movie but this theatre was different, I didn’t mind being up close at all. In fact we were mixed right in with all the up and coming Disney stars, many you were probably recognize them (although I didn’t! I guess I don’t watch enough tv… haha).
We were sitting right behind this girl, India de Beaufort from Jane by Design (which I had never even heard of.. :/), although my friend Melissa, who I was sitting with had.
Ok enough of the star-struck ramblings…. 😉
Walking the red carpet (which was actually green…) was a blast, we were mixing and mingling with all kinds of celebrities who had brought their kids to see the film or were just there to see it themselves. It was pretty surreal. On Hollywood Blvd, they had closed off part of the street and there were hundreds of people watching the carpet procession, including a bus-full of Merida’s!
Seeing the same Actors and Directors that we had interviewed earlier in the day, then recognize us on the carpet/during the after-party was rather exciting too!
Speaking of the after-party…. can I just say WOW? I still am working on the words to explain it. Scottish everything. They had people playing the bagpipes, archery lessons, bracelet making, Haggis tasting… uh, no thanks, Scotch tasting… not to mention probably the best spread of Scottish food ever!
Overall it was an experience I will remember forever! If you haven’t gone to see the movie yet, be sure to go this week! I loved it and I know you will too. See my review of the movie itself here.
