Have you seen it yet?
After reading the books, I became a mild-variation “Twi-hard”, meaning I LOVE the books and read them 7 times through…. That said, I am not a screaming teen-age girl that fawns over Taylor Lautner (aka forever Shark Boy ;)). Not that there is anything wrong with those that are — but I’m just putting it out there — that is not me.
I actually watched the first Twilight movie before reading the books. Then since reading the books, I have gone to the midnight showings of New Moon, Eclipse and now Breaking Dawn, Part 1.
Of the first three, Eclipse was best by far — acting wise, sticking to the book, etc.. I’ll tell you, I have had a hard time stomaching Kristen Stewart as Bella, but I’ve lived through it. She did seem to improve through the series.
Now, on to the “Midnight Showing Experience”. People watching at a midnight showing is absolutely priceless. 😉
Last night’s experience was no exception to that! I love that some people actually get dressed up how they think the characters look too. Seeing the Volturi at the theater with us was great, haha.
Anyone who goes to midnight showings of a popular movie has to know that if they want good seats, you GET THERE EARLY. I mean, my sisters and I got in line at 7pm and had probably 75 people in front of us in line — we still got great seats but we got there 5 HOURS before the movie started. So at about 9:30pm, the theater manager comes in and makes an announcement at the front of the theater that no group may hold more than two seats so to start moving in and condensing the “saved seats”. There was a woman with him who literally went from the top all the way to the bottom of the theater with two managers and TWO POLICE (yes, POLICE lol), asking about reserved seats. Her and whoever she was with wanted better seats than the front couple rows of the theater… insert HUGE EYE ROLL HERE.
I really am NOT a judgemental person but I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the whole situation.
Then at about 10:00 THE POWER WENT OUT!!! About a 1-2 mile radius around the theater lost power. Talk about a fun time sitting in a PACKED theater with generator lighting and no air for a good 45 minutes! Did I still have fun? Absolutely! 🙂
Luckily we were sitting next to quite a few great ladies who kept us amused most of the 4 hours we were seated in theater before the movie started.
THE MOVIE! Breaking Dawn, Part 1.
So I’m going to start by saying, Breaking Dawn was my favorite of the series. I read that one more than any of the other books. LOVE IT.
Then, I’m going to come right out and say it, I may not be liked for saying it but, mildly put — this movie was CHEESY. 🙁
The first scene of the movie appeared to be a green screen shot, the make-up of the Cullens was horrible, the acting was cheese-ball and more awkward than Kristen Stewart accepting an MTV Movie award. There were parts that were good, but for the most part I felt awkward through the whole thing, we (the WHOLE THEATER) were laughing at parts that we shouldn’t have been laughing at because it was that cheesy.
The beginning was the worst, it did improve throughout the movie but it just wasn’t quite what I hoped that it would be.
Will I watch it again? Yes. Because I am weird like that. But, I was honestly very disappointed. I was hoping that because the acting had improved through the third one that it would be better.
These are obviously all my opinions and I still recommend seeing it if you are a Twi-hard!
