First I’m going to be totally honest and say I’m not a huge fan of Tim Burton movies. I know many people that LOVE them and don’t get me wrong he is BRILLIANT, very creative — just not my personal taste.
Now that I have gotten that out of the way… learning more about the thought process BEHIND this film actually peaked my interest a LOT. Many of you will remember, last month I had the chance to go to LA for the Brave premiere, we also got a sneak peek of a few clips of this movie and had the opportunity to ask questions of the Producer of the film, Allison Abbate.
I had NO idea the detail that went in to producing a movie like this — they actually make little tiny sets and the whole movie is played out on these mini sets! Can you imagine the tedious detail?! Crazy!! That in itself made me want to go see it.
As you will see in the preview this film is about a young boy who loses his dog and desperate to get him back, uses lightning to bring him back.
One of the points that really hit home with me during the Q&A with Allison Abbate was that this is a personal story from Tim Burton. He lost his dog when he was young. The creativity that then spurred from that event really is quite phenomenal.
Yes, it has the funny quirks and dark-side that you don’t see in a lot of Disney movies but it is funny and actually even touching when you understand the back-story.
