Thanks to Cabot Cheese and Wholly Guacamole for this next one!! Â A couple weeks ago I got a package from both Cabot Cheese and Wholly Guacamole with all kinds of goodies.
First, I’ll tell you a secret — I HATE onions, like H.A.T.E. them. Â I don’t ever buy them. I will not eat tomatoes that have been cut by the same knife as an onions — so yes, we are talking serious dislike. Â My mom often does the Tasty Tuesday recipes and will include onions in there but you will not see any recipe that includes onions being made in my house. Â So when it comes to guacamole I usually make my own as pretty much every other guacamole tastes like raw onions to me.
All that said, I even talked to the Wholly Guacamole PR rep back in August about trying just their plain avocado and using that to make my guac.
So when I got the package, it actually took me a bit longer than it should have for me to get up the gall to open the box and try the guac. Â I have to say — I was very pleasantly surprised. Â The smell of onions was quite strong. But taste wise I found my new favorite snack. Â The package included their little snack packs and I seriously don’t know how to just eat one, they are great with Tortilla chips with lunch.
I personally prefer the classic. Â I was sent the Spicy and the Chunky. Â Chunky was a bit too oniony for my personal taste and the Spicy was a tad too spicy for ME. Â But my hubby (who drowns everything in red chile) didn’t think it was spicy enough, ha!
I did like the Salsa though — that was GOOD! Â Not too spicy at all. Â (I live in New Mexico but lived most of my life in California so I really am not big on things that are “too spicy” unlike most of my family that live in NM).
Onto the Cabot Cheese – oh.my! Â Their Pepper Jack Cheese was SO SO SO good. Â I will definitely be buying this one from now on. I have been spoiled with it. Â It has actual fresh pepper in it. Â Â All of the cheeses were excellent and even better grated up on top of a taco!
My favorite tacos are probably plain and simple compared to others but I love the good ol’ browned ground beef with seasoning, shredded cheese, guacamole, salsa and a dollop of sour cream.  I’ve found that if I use those stoneground tortillas  I get the best taste for corn tortillas.  Yum!
The package that I received from Wholly Guacamole and Cabot Cheese included:
- Wholly Guacamole- various flavors
- Wholly Salsa- various flavors
- 4 bars of Cabot Cheese- various flavors
- promotion items including an awesome little cutting board, a cheese cutter,  a chip clip and a Wholly Guacamole  T-Shirt
ONE lucky reader will get the same package!

I like classic tacos- not too spicey. Cheese, lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes. Throw in some guacamole and I am happy 🙂
I like to mix ground beef with taco spices (must use garlic, chili powder, cumin, and paprika, etc.) and a little flour before browning the meat. It helps thicken the mixture. I also like to fry flour tortillas to use as the shell instead of a regular soft taco.
I love to make nachos belagrande.
Meat (usually turkey, can’t have beef) sauteed with onion, cumin, cilantro, chili powder and cayene put in a taco shell (crunchy since I can’t have wheat) topped with lettuce, onion, tomato cheese, guacamole and a little Taco Bell mild sauce 🙂
I love any taco with lots and lots and lots of toppings!
