No traditions but tonight is my husbands Uncle’s surprise 50th bday party. So that is our plans for today.
I am making corn beef, potatoes, carrots, and cabbage in the crock pot! Then we are making cookies that have the shamrocks on them and Lucky Charms Bars! Bought the Irish soda bread because I didn’t have time to make it homemade.
This morning the kids awoke to chaos. The leprechauns upturned the furniture, put a rocking chair on the kitchen table, green streamers everywhere, tied their pants all in knots, strung their belts together and hung all their underwear from them. Drew shamrocks in various places and even wrote messages on the mirrors, fish tank and hermit crab tank with glitter. They also left food coloring in the glasses so when we poured the milk this morning, it magically turned green.
I don’t have any traditions yet but since my first born is a little older we might start! This is looking good for tonight: http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Favorite-Irish-Stew

I don’t have a tradtion for dinner for St.Patrick’s day. My daughter and I went to the mall this evening and stopped by Burger King for a bite and got our free fries.
You have to put green food coloring in the toilets so the kids know the leprechauns have been in the house over night!
I always make a St Patricks Day Jello Cake!
Just make a white cake and let cool.
Mix 3 oz green jello package with 1 cup hot water. Mix well. Then add 1/2 cup cold water. Then poke holes in the top of the cooled cake. Poor green jello slowely down holes. Refrigerate over night. Then top with cool whip and green sugar sprinkes on top.
