Do you remember the days when you could maybe sleep anywhere? The floor, the couch or even the backyard in a sleeping bag would suffice. I loved my waterbed that I slept in while growing up, especially because it was heated. Something happens when we get a bit older; we usually want a bed that offers a lot more comfort. Even though we might be okay accepting a halfway decent, handed-down mattress with clean sheets and a warm blanket when we first get out on our own, later what we sleep on becomes of utmost importance. We can entertain friend in the living room with no couch or table, but we need a bed when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep.
Time for an upgrade
I recently bought a whole new bedroom set. I did my research and I ended up looking at a variety of comfortable beds. I love my new bedroom décor, and hopefully I will enjoy the style I chose for many years, but when it came to the mattress I decided to wait. Fortunately, the one we have is only 7 years old and it is still in good shape. After looking at the prices, I definitely saw that no matter what I choose for a mattress, I better start putting aside the money now. Because we spend about one third of our lives in them, our bedrooms are an important investment.
Not just the same old mattress
Doing my research, I was amazed that we have so many choices when it comes to the mattress. Besides the most common, which is an innerspring type, and we can get a pillow top or even a feather bed to enhance the feel, we can now purchase latex foam or memory foam mattresses. There are even air beds that adjust differently on each side. And, believe it or not, I know for a fact that some people still have a water bed. My parents sleep on one; however, they have added a very thick down feather top to it.
Your opinion just might help influence my next mattress choice. Have you invested in a comfortable bed lately? Do you have one on your wish list? Which type is your favorite?
