10 Great Valentine’s Gifts for Men
It’s that time of year, yet again. I struggle every year- most men by nature are not romantically inclined, what I mean by that is that- they themselves, typically do not enjoy receiving flowers, a candlelight dinner, or a love poem written just for them. It would be a lot easier if they did, because I just don’t enjoy giving him practical gifts. I stewed on it awhile and came up with 10 ideas that I think would be well received by our manlier other half.
Dinner– Cook something he would love, no petite girly steaks with rosemary potatoes- unless that is his thing, then by all means give it to him. If your man is like mine he wants a t-bone, loaded baked potatoes, and a tasty veggie- Valentine’s seems to always be for us women, if you want to level it out a bit start with a dinner to please him.
A bouquet of scratch off lotto tickets. Pick up a cheap vase (or manly coffee mug) some floral foam, and a pack of wooden skewers from the Dollar Tree. Tape lotto tickets to the top of the sticks, break them off into varying heights and arrange like a floral bouquet.
Coupons– Ok, I know the cheesy homemade coupon book has probably been done to death but if you put coupons in there that he will actually want to use- something instead of “ Good for one Snuggle” it would make a great gift. Be creative, what does he love?
Tickets to a sporting event – football, baseball, monster truck, college football-whatever is his passion. Make it for two. To make it even better- if you don’t know the lingo already study it online and impress him with your knowledge at the game instead of spending the game peppering him with questions.
Couples massage! I think this is just a sexy gift, if you want to be frugal, skip the spa and set up your room for a romantic massage at home. Take turns, don’t forget a delicious smelling oil like these.
A year of dates. I have been nagging hubby to establish a date night every month. But for some reason I leave it up to him, and while there is no reason why he cant come up with ideas of course, its probably not fair that I just toss it into his lap. Why not prepay for 12 months of dates and take the pressure off. Grab 12 envelopes, stuff them each with a letter, and a giftcard or cash to cover a pre-planned date. Movie tickets, a gift card to a favorite restaurant, and sporting event tickets are a few ideas you both might love.
BBQ supplies. If he is a grill master- fill a basket or bucket with grilling items- seasonings, utensils, a grill cover, a cutting board.
Beer. Does your man enjoy a beer or two? Why not pickup a six pack of his favorite and relabel each one with silly titles, pictures and love notes- Bud Wife, St. Joey’s Girl, or Love bubbles. The sillier the better, your creativity will be appreciated.
Car Wash. Get up early, run his car/truck to the car wash or detailers, have it washed, and fill it up. Hang a yummy scented air freshener and leave a new travel mug in the cup holder.
Man Cave Gear. If he has a man cave-even if its just the garage- pick up pictures, poker supplies, a good bottle of liquor, cigars, or even a game table to add to his cave décor. My hubby is a HUGE Star Wars fan and one of the recent gifts that he got was Star Wars Posters.
Some great ideas that are not too expensive! Something for every budget!
