“I’m hungry, Mom!”… the classic first words as the kids walk through the door from school. Anyone else?! I struggle to come up healthy and EASY snacks for them. All too often they end up with a bag of chips. I hate it! I would rather have something protein filled and tasty.
A while back, I mentioned, Sandwich Bros. of Wisconsin™. Have you tried them? These have become a household staple and a huge hit for the kids after school. Their goto are the Chicken Melts, and they are REALLY Tasty.
First off, they are healthy, a bit of protein (oh and they are even in a pita wrap!). Secondly, they are delicious! I want the kids to be hungry for dinner still so having a healthy SNACK is important. I don’t want something huge. These little pocket sandwiches are the perfect size for a quick and filling snack. They have protein and are not just a bunch of empty calories.
They are filling. With chips or something like that, the kids tend to just want to snack all afternoon, with these, they eat it and then I don’t hear from them again until dinner time about their hunger.
You could even use these as a tasty lunch for yourself! They are QUICK to make, too!
Ingredients-wise, they use Kangaroo flatbread pockets and premium proteins like Angus beef, all-white chicken. They even have an Egg White and Turkey Sausage for breakfast.
Another huge plus with these sandwiches…. They take about 1 minute to prepare. You just wrap it up in a napkin and microwave it for 50-55 seconds.
They also have breakfast sandwiches that I am looking forward to trying. Oh! And they have a new Italian Beef one, too! Keep your eye on the freezer aisle and snag them next time you are in the store!
What are your go to snacks for the kids after school? I definitely recommend checking them out, they are reasonably priced! Grab a coupon HERE!
