Sorry I haven’t updated in a while! Things have been crazy. I am sure you can imagine, heading to the hospital 2-3 times a day, taking care of a 6 and 8 year old, the craziness of the holidays on the blog, and and and… It hasn’t been easy to keep up! I am hoping to get some help this week on getting the Holiday Gift Guide up for you guys! I have so many great items to feature AND a lot of giveaways too.
If you aren’t familiar with Oliver and this crazy journey, see more details in the earlier posts here!
Oliver is doing pretty well. We have had some roller coasters this week. He completed the hydrocortisone trial that he was on, but we are pretty sure that he ended up getting the placebo as it didn’t seem to make much of a difference with his lungs. He was doing decent on the breathing tube earlier this week and they tried (very briefly) to extubate him again. He didn’t do well with that though and he was reintubated about 3 hours later.
Since then his oxygen requirements kept going up. We do however have an answer to why that is. They took some cultures from his breathing tube when he was extubated a couple days ago and those came back positive. He has pneumonia 🙁
He was started on antibiotics on Friday night and is responding to that well. Such a strong little guy.
The good news? He seems to be doing fantastic weight-wise, he is growing very well! He is now up to 2.8 pounds (almost a full pound since birth). I really cannot believe he is already a month. Time is going quickly, which is good because I cannot wait until we can take him home.
You can definitely see a difference! 🙂

What a precious little fighter! You focus on baby Oliver, your other kids and you right now. No deal is more important than what you are doing right now!!! This is lasting, material things are not! Thank you for sharing, sending prayers of healing, strength and blessing your way tonight!
