More awesomeness from my trip to Los Angeles!!! One of the highlights was getting to attend a showing of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Not only did we get to attend, but we watched it from the VIP lounge, equipped with all kinds of fun stuff.
If you are ever in LA, I highly recommend getting tickets to a live showing, it is a blast. Like I said, we were not in the audience but we were watching from the VIP room and the vibe from everyone that works on the show was just FUN. We got to do a short Q&A with Executive Producer Jill Leiderman, as well as co-head writer Molly McNearney – who has been with the show for 10 years! Molly is also Jimmy’s wife and just about the cutest pregnant lady ever!
Getting the reality of what they have to do every.single.day to do this show is CRAZY.
They start over everyday. Obviously there are a lot of them that spend time researching, finding material to make jokes about, etc., but they have to be CURRENT so it is a wash-rinse-repeat thing everyday. To be able to do that and come up with NEW content consistently is impressive!
Both Jill and Molly love what they do and you could tell from the passion that they had in their answers to the questions we were throwing at them. One of my favorite Kimmel skits that has been done a few times is the Mean Tweets, Molly is actually the creator of that one!
After the Q&A we watched the live show with Julia Roberts and Sally Field. Including getting to see their awesome “Curse Off”… if you haven’t watched it, check it out! We got to hear it live and I will never look at Sally Fields the same again 😉
Once the show was over, we met Guillermo and then went down to the set. It wasn’t on the agenda to meet Jimmy Kimmel but he came in to say hi! Not only did he stop by but he actually took a picture with each of us!! Incredible nice guy.
Oh, and of course we had to get a group shot of just the bloggers at Jimmy’s desk too!
If you don’t watch Jimmy Kimmel already, I highly recommend tuning in. He is HILARIOUS. The skits that they do nightly have so much thought put into them to make everything perfect and a true comedic experience. Jimmy Kimmel is on ABC weekdays at 11:35/10:35 Central.
If you are planning a trip to Los Angeles, book tickets for the show! #Kimmel tickets sell out fast, so you will want to book well in advance!! Be sure to follow Jimmy Kimmel Live on Twitter too.
I went on an all expense paid trip with Disney and ABC and this was part of that trip. All opinions are 100% my own.
