I’ve mentioned a few times about my exciting trip for the Iron Man 3 Premiere in LA a few months ago… well a year ago actually! Myself and several other bloggers had the opportunity to actually go ON SET while Captain America: The Winter Soldier was being filmed. And get this.. the first 20 seconds or so of this brand new 4 minute movie trailer was THE SCENE WE WATCH THEM FILM!!!
This latest trailer seriously gave me the chills. I cannot wait for this movie to be released and to have been able to go behind the scenes, on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier was certainly a once in a lifetime opportunity!
I think the craziest thing was seeing what actually goes into making each and every scene in a movie. The number of retakes was quite remarkable! Just that 20-30 second spot was being filmed for the entire 1.5 hours that we were there. Many retakes. On a movie like this they try to get ONE PAGE of script done in a day. Isn’t that unreal?!
Get this… the scene we were watching was filmed on the Quinjet… the very same prop jet that was use in the Avengers! You know the scene where Captain America and Iron Man just captured Loki and they are flying on a jet when Thor lands on top of it? Ya, THAT jet! We actually got to go into the jet in between takes. I do have an inner Marvel geek 😉
Listening to the banter in between takes was a hoot!
At one point (between takes — while they were in the Quinjet), Scarlet Johansson had something on her face and Chris Evans wiped it off for her. Scarlet made some joke about how this was their 12th movie together, this is chemistry after 10 years. Chris jokes back “Just call me Harvard Hottie”. For those of you that haven’t seen it, that was what she called him in the movie The Nanny Diaries.
Then of course, you know how you get to see outtakes at the end of a movie, all the mistakes made, etc.? Well there was this one line (which isn’t in the trailer) where Captain America is complaining about having to clean up SHIELD’s mess, the line was supposed to be something along the lines of him not being Fury’s janitor and Chris kept saying Jury’s Janitor, it was quite funny.
Oh! And Frank Grillo, who plays Brock Rumlow in the movie, kept stopping by saying hi to all us bloggers while we were on set too.
And the absolute BEST part of the day….
I am thinking that this one may be my new profile pic for a while… 😉
