Some of you have probably noticed “Offers” being posted on Facebook by bloggers. I did a few of these myself to test out the visibility of those vs. those without promotion.
I try to pride myself in my transparency on the blog, so I am going to give you some facts and figures so you will understand a little better why I may occasionally use the “Offers” option, vs a regular post.
With the constantly changing Facebook, it appears that they limit the visibility of my posts on news feeds. I’ve spent quite a bit of time over the last two years building up my blog and I work to make it something that is helpful to many. Saving money is important to all of us, right? 🙂 You can see my post here for more info on how you can ensure you see my posts on Facebook.
Over the last several months the changes have gone from several thousand seeing my posts to sometimes under 1000 seeing them. That is despite growing numbers of fans on the Facebook Page.
This past week, Facebook added a new thing on Facebook where they have given us the option to make “offers”. Along with the new option, came a credit to use on the promotion. The Offers are a PAID advertisement. In other words, to continue using them I will have to pay advertising costs to reach my own fans. That said, if it is actually going to be seen by my fans, there are some offers where I may chose that option.
I hope you can understand why some of us may use those here and there!
