So after 5.5 months in the NICU, Oliver has just about the most sensitive skin ever! Seriously, this boy still has a dry/eczema type spot from his heart monitor probe. Which he hasn’t had on in FOUR months. So everything that we use, I have to keep an eye on because it can easily cause a reaction on his skin.
Without thinking, I’ve wiped his face with other wipes and he’s actually gotten a bit “red” and I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to a reaction from the wipes. Did you know that a lot of baby wipes have things like “tocopheryl acetate”, “disodium cocoamphodiacetate” (yes, that is a word?!?). I mean seriously?! These are BABY wipes!!
Needless to say, I was very happy to try out the new WaterWipes that they are selling at Babies R Us! And guess what?
The ingredients in the WaterWipes?
WaterWipes, a premier European brand, is a chemical free baby wipe that contains only two ingredients, 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract.
Yeah. Water and Grapefruit seed extract.
Even better? They work just as well!! Absolutely my new “go-to” for Oliver’s sensitive skin.
About WaterWipes
o WaterWipes are chemical free—this means they don’t contain preservatives. The package will keep for up to 15 months before it is opened. Once you open your WaterWipes package, we recommend that you use the pack within 1 month.
o Unlike many other wipe brands, WaterWipes are not interfolded. This allows for the sterile environment within the package to be maintained. For the same reason, we recommend that you do not relocate the wipes in an alternate container.

Follow up: I actually used the WaterWipes to wipe off Ollie’s face last time I fed him and the red reaction that he was having did NOT happen with them!! Which is great news because I was starting to worry that the reaction was from the food and that’s the last thing that we need! So yes, we will definitely be buying more of these fantastic wipes!
