Did you have a great Mother’s Day this year? I think most kids like to surprise their Mom in some way other another! For me though, spending time with my Mom and with my kids is the best present of all. I have spent many years away from family over Mother’s Day and there is really no comparison to just being together and enjoying each others company. Even if when the kids are younger they may not think that 😉
Sports is one way that Moms can connect with their kids and really, they are always their biggest cheerleaders. That is something that never goes away either. You always see major Pro athletes with their Moms in the stands, watching their games and cheering them on. We are huge football fans in our house but no matter the sport, I know that I would be cheering my kids on!
This past weekend was the ultimate Mother’s Day surprise for the U.S. Women’s National Team members who were reunited with their moms over Mother’s Day Weekend!
On Saturday night, as the team prepared for a send-off game vs. Ireland (in San Jose, CA) in advance of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, an ordinary team meeting and dinner took a dramatic turn as the featured guests were revealed to be non-other than the players’ moms.
Then, on Sunday during the U.S.A. vs. Ireland game (at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Ca) a unique breaking of tradition took place. Rather than taking the field with youth soccer members to enter the stadium, the players walked out with their moms in a heartwarming tribute to Mother’s Day and moms across America.”
Talk about a great Mother’s Day treat!! I love it.
